The longtime town manager of Indialantic could be out of a job after Wednesday, all because of the mayor said he was helping a TV network.

The Indialantic Town Council is expected to decide Wednesday night if Town Manager Chris Chinault should be fired.

Mayor Dave Berkman said Chinault isn't listening to the council's wishes.

It all stems from a CBS Broadcast of "48 Hours" on the Sheila Graham-Trott trial.

Trott, the wife of former Indialantic mayor Daniel Trott, was found guilty in September of murdering her husband's lover in 2010. She was sentenced to life in prison.

Berkman advised the town manager and police chief he did not want any town employee to speak with "48 Hours." But a police detective did grant the show an interview, although it was never used during the broadcast.

The mayor has cast the blame for the slip-up on Chinault, and Berkman said that was just the latest on a list of directives the town manager did not follow.

Chinault, who has been Indialantic's town manager for 15 years, said he is not ready to leave.

The Town Council was scheduled to decide at a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
