Police said a woman has turned herself in for the shooting of a man found dead in Cocoa early Wednesday morning.

James Brundige was found unresponsive after Cocoa police followed a trail of blood from his car, which crashed into a fence after being shot around 4 a.m. along North Fiske Boulevard, just south of Dixon Boulevard.

"Just blood everywhere," said Kevin McNeal, who lives near the crime scene. "I stay right in this building, and it's pretty unbelievable — like, right here — that's like a reality check."

Police released photos of a woman whom they said was with Brundige before he died. Her name was not immediately released.

The woman was located around 1:30 p.m., police said.
