A fashion model is trending on social media right now, not for what she's wearing but the message she hopes she's sending.

Tess Holliday, 29, is on the cover of People magazine this week. She's being billed as the World's First Size 22 Supermodel.

Experts say a supermodel is usually 5'9" and a size 2. Tess is 5'5" and a size 22.

She's signed to a major agency in the United Kingdom that's known for representing plus size talent. But even plus size models are taller and slimmer -- 5'8", size 8 to 16.

Tess has quite the social media following.

She started the #EffYourBeautyStandards campaign, saying she wants to change people's perceptions about beauty. She has some 906,000 followers on Facebook and more than 725,000 followers on Instagram.

But her campaign is also garnering controversy. While many people applaud her efforts, others claim she is promoting an unhealthy lifestyle. She deals with constant criticism from people online. She's used it though, saying she was bullied about her weight her whole life.

Holliday said it's not about being fat, but about liking yourself at any size. She told People: "Health is so personal for everybody. It's really my business."
