It was an exciting Sunday night for Orlando City Soccer fans after the Lions dominated the L.A. Galaxy, 4-0, to secure the club's first home win in Major League Soccer.

"It is just a good time to be an Orlando City fan," Brandon Scherr said.

The Orlando City Lions delivered their first Major League soccer home win in front of about 40,000 fans. The Lions beat the Galaxy 4-0. Kaka had a goal and an assist, while Eric Avila's header put Orlando City on the board in the 12th minute.

"It was just a great atmosphere," said Scherr. "I didn't want to leave at the end because I was just so happy that we won."

The match shaped up to be the second largest crowd for Orlando City with 40,122 fans packing the Citrus Bowl. Of course, that continues to pose questions for the new stadium currently under construction in Parramore, which is only expected to expand to 25,000 seats at most.

“We are not even winning too many games and they are selling out," said JC Sanclemente, an Orlando City fan. "You know it is good for the city, we have a lot of fans here and I’m glad we are selling that many tickets. I know we are going to pack that new stadium.”

“I think the more the merrier," Scherr said. "Pack it in. This is the start of good things for Orlando City Soccer.”

With Sunday’s big victory, Orlando snapped its four game winless stretch. Orlando City has averaged 37,446 fans per home game this season, a record for the first six standalone MLS home games for an expansion team.

Orlando City’s next match will be Sunday, May 24, at San Jose.
