SeaWorld said it will unveil new details on what it claims will be Orlando's tallest, fastest and longest coaster in an announcement set for Wednesday, May 27.

The theme park sent us the following email Tuesday to save the date:

As you've heard, something is stirring beneath the surface at SeaWorld Orlando, preparing to rise from the ocean depths and soar to thrilling new heights.

Be sure to save the date — May 27 — as details will be surfacing for Orlando’s tallest, fastest and longest coaster.

Follow #nothingfaster as the frenzy continues.

Stay tuned as more details for this media day will be provided.

SeaWorld's initial teaser in April said the new coaster will be 200 feet tall and open in 2016.

If the hashtag #nothingfaster looks familiar, it's because SeaWorld used the similar #NothingTaller to tease to the 105-foot-tall Ihu's Breakaway Falls, which opened at Aquatica in 2014, becoming Orlando's tallest, steepest and only multi-drop tower slide.

The new ride will join SeaWorld Orlando's other three coasters:

  • Kraken, the 149-foot-tall floorless coaster that opened in 2000,
  • Manta, the 140-foot-tall flying coaster that opened in 2009, and
  • Shamu Express, a smaller coaster aimed at younger riders that opened in 2006.

While SeaWorld's new coaster may become the tallest at any of Orlando's theme parks when it opens, its 200-foot peak will eventually be eclipsed by the 500-foot SkyScraper planned on International Drive in 2017.
