His fuel is doing things that no one else on the planet has done. But extreme sports giant Travis Pastrana is brightening the spotlight on someone who he thinks is "better, stronger, and younger."

Pastrana's motocross partner is about to attempt the unthinkable, just a week and a half before Pastrana's Nitro Circus revs into town. I sat down with Travis in-studio to get more details about this upcoming stunt, and also, what he ended up doing in Orlando:

ALLISON WALKER: So, I know what you did last night. A little birdie told me you partied at the new McFadden's on I-Drive?

TRAVIS PASTRANA: It's an awesome area. We had planned on just getting some food, but someone had a bus and I don't know what happened. But it was a great time. So I'm just happy to be here today.

AW: Bright n' chipper. So, meanwhile, Nitro Circus is coming to the Amway Center on May 9. But before that, your partner, Josh Sheehan, wants to attempt arguably the most dangerous trick ever done in action sports. What is he doing?

TRAVIS PASTRANA: A triple back-flip. Just to put this into perspective, a double back-flip — since 2006, only 4 people have ever done a double. So to add exponentially double the height, double the everything — the difficulty — Josh Sheehan is going to hit a jump that's

AW: So why aren't you doing this?

TP: Because he's better. He's stronger and younger. He's more fit. He wasn't at McFadden's last night.

AW: The first time we see this happen on the 28th, will that be the first time he'll be doing it without the airbags?

TP: The first and only. Honestly, like, Nitro Circus — we try to do stuff that's never been done before. It's always pushing the envelope. But with this, this is more of a stunt than a trick. It's not really an "action sports." You couldn't fit it in an arena, basically. It'd have to be an open roof. [They're doing it at Pastranaland]... We've been working on this for 5 years now. [Josh Sheehan] flew himself over there 3 or 4 times, to my house, to just keep working on this trick. It's stuff that's really cool. It's really a passion project. For him to be able to pull this off, I'm proud of him. I'm scared for him! But I'm proud of him.

AW: Talk to me about some of the things we'll get to see at the Amway Center with Nitro Circus.

TP: It's really fun because not only is it the biggest tricks you see in action sports , but a lot of the times, you'll be doing a back flip and the guy in front is on a four wheeler and the guy behind you is on a snowmobile. And you have 2 guys to each side of you that are both doing their tricks. It's really difficult because a lot of the guys who are at the top of the sport, they get there and they're like, 'Absolutely not. I need to set up. I need my time.' This show is such go, go, go. There are skateboarders jumping next to bicycle guys jumping next to scooters. We even have a guy in a wheelchair who has spina bifida, who actually crushes it. He tried a double front flip a couple of weeks ago. He's been doing double backs. Back flips. Front flips.

AW: The moment before you're about to do something — like jumping out of a plane without a parachute — this one here — psychologically, how do you handle that.

TP: I think preparation. The biggest thing for us — as much as these are stunts, it's been my whole life. It's all I love and, you know, we just try and go out and be as prepared as possible so you know what you're getting into. You know the people around you are the best in the business. For us, it's taken a few years to build this kind of community of action sports athletes. It's so cool because there are always new kids coming in who are becoming a part. I'm 31 — definitely one of the older guys on the tour, but it's definitely the practice that helps get you the confidence.

AW: Your bucket list. What is the one thing that you haven't yet done that you're going to make happen?

TP: Oh man. I'd really love to do a double flip with basically a superman... You know, as a father and husband, maybe it's not in my best interest.

AW: I have a feeling, though, you will be attempting. We know your nature Travis.

TP: ADHD. Boredom is the worst thing.
