The smell of death is in the air at Rollins College with the blooming of the corpse flower.

The flower has the formal name Amorphophallus titanium and its smell is described as like that of a rotting body, or sometimes dirty socks.

The plant took root 11 years ago and is the first corpse plant to bloom at Rollins College.  It bloomed around 5 p.m. Sunday.

You can check out the corpse plant via the Rollins College Greenhouse Cam.
