More than 1,000 motorcycles roared down U-S 1 in Brevard County Sunday to honor the memories of those killed in the Vietnam War.

Riders helped escort the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall through the Space Coast.

The caravan made its way from Cocoa down to Wickham Park in Melbourne.

The wall will be on display for the next week at Wickham Park, during what’s billed as the country’s largest veteran’s reunion.

Organizers say the traveling wall is always the highlight.

“It’s the first step in the healing process, whether they come to see a family member, come to see a friend that they lost, they were fighting side by side with, it’s pretty amazing and pretty moving thing,” said Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall Manager Richard Russo.

The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall was made in Brevard County.

Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, the wall has traveled roughly 164,000 miles across the country.
