Plans for a relief high school in west Orange County have cleared the second hurdle after the school board approved the compromise plan.

Last week, the county commission passed the plan, which was the first major hurdle in the nearly two-year fight to get the relief school for West Orange High School approved.

The school would be built on a 66-acre parcel on County Road 535 near Winter Garden Vineland Road.

A new football stadium would be located about a mile and a half away, which would also be used by the county.

Plans for the school now have to clear the zoning board.
