Talk about going to grab a quick bite! People passing by a Brevard County McDonald's early Monday got quite a surprise when a giant gator was spotted taking a midnight stroll.

The 9-foot 2-inch alligator was found passing through the parking lot of a McDonald's located at 927 Dixon Boulevard in Cocoa.

Police called a trapper to come and trap gator.

Per Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission guidelines, the gator was out down out of concern for the public's safety.

As spring weather replaces cold winter, Florida's alligators and crocodiles become active. FWC reminds residents and visitors to be cautions when in and around water.
