You can bring your own cup to 7-Eleven Saturday and get a Slurpee for a $1.49.

7-Eleven says an estimated 7,700 stores across the U.S. are expected to take part in the first “Bring-Your-Own-Cup Slurpee Day” Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

There are rules to follow and a garbage can is not a cup.

7-Eleven says the cup must fit upright through an in-store display with a 10-inch-diameter hole.

The container must also be clean, and have no leaks.

The cost to fill the Slurpee “cup” of choice, regardless of size, is $1.49, the average cost of a medium Slurpee drink.

“Slurpee is all about having fun, and what better way to celebrate warmer weather than by filling your favorite cup with your favorite beverage?” said Laura Gordon, 7‑Eleven vice president of marketing and brand innovation. “From sand buckets to trophies, customers can unleash their creativity by bringing in their choice of a unique, fun Slurpee cup.”

The BYO Cup Day is not new to the company. 7-Eleven says stores in Australia, Canada, the Philippines and Malaysia have held BYO Cup Days in the past.
