The man who has been in charge of Brevard Public Schools since 2009 is leaving for Texas.
Dr. Brian Binggeli said he will stay through the end of the school year before he begins his job as the superintendent of the Plano Independent School District, in Plano, Texas.
"Being the superintendent of Brevard Public Schools has been an hour and a privilege," Binggeli said in a statement. "(Brevard Public Schools) serves this community with distinction because it is served by some of the most dedicated and mission-driven employees you will find in any school district. ... I have been a customer and will be forever grateful for the quality education that my daughter received in (Brevard Public Schools)."
The Brevard School Board will begin discussing the next steps to replace Binggeli at its next meeting, which is set to take palce at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10.
