Lake County deputies arrested a 17-year-old student at Leesburg High School after they said he left a note in a classroom Thursday threatening to bring bombs to blow up the school.

A teacher found the note, in which the teen claimed to be an "ISIS member," on a classroom projector and immediately reported it to a school resource deputy, the Lake County Sheriff's Office said.

A member of the bomb squad was called to investigate, and deputies identified the teen, who admitted to writing the note.

"I am a [sic] ISIS member," the note began. "Imma blow this [expletive] school up … everyone's going to die!!!"

The note continued: "I'm gonna bring one bomb per building and go in each one … watch the [expletive] out!"

We are not identifying the suspect because of his age, in accordance with our Crime Guidelines.

Deputies said the student told them he was just upset when he wrote the threatening note, and did not intend for anyone to find or read it.

Deputies searched the teen, his belongings and the classroom where he left the note, but found no signs of a bomb or bomb-making material. No lockdowns or evacuations were necessary, the sheriff's office said.

The teen was charged with threatening to place a destructive device, a second-degree felony.
