New Smyrna Beach police are looking for the grandson of a woman found dead inside her home Wednesday morning.  They want to question him about the death.

Police have also issued a nationwide BOLO for her missing car. It’s a beige or tan 2006 Nissan Altima with the Florida license plate 803 MBW

They believe 27-year-old Patrick Campbell is connected to the missing car somehow, though they did not say if they think he has the car.

New Smyrna Beach police said Darlene Robertson was found her dead inside the home on the 400 block of DeSoto Drive after a co-worker told family members she did not show up for work.

Her son drove by to check on her only to find his mother’s body and called 911.

911 Call: “I think she’s been stabbed. I have, yeah, I can see a wound on her stomach. I have no idea. I think she’s been stabbed.”

Police are actively looking for Campbell since they know he went to his grandmother’s home the night she was killed. They have not been able to reach him since her body was discovered.

Police believe that Campbell may not be in his right mind.

Investigators said there was no forced entry. They believe Campbell may have been staying with her at the time.

“I think that it’s safe to say that he is not of his right mind," New Smyrna Beach Police Chief Mike Coffin said. "As to what that is, I think whether it’s emotionally disturbed or he may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. I don’t know. But the family has some concern about his emotional state.”

Police are telling the public to let police be the first to approach Campbell since they believe he may be unstable.
