The Evans Community School is celebrating after receiving a surprise grant from the Orlando Magic Youth Fund.
The school was awarded a $25,000 grant earlier this month during a ceremony held at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
The funding will Evans Community School eliminate barriers for high risk students in the Pine Hills area so they may achieve their full potential.
Evans Community School is a partnership between Children's Home Society of Florida, Orange County Public Schools, the University of Central Florida and Central Florida Family Health Center, Inc.
