A campus adviser at a K-8 school in Volusia County was arrested Wednesday after surveillance video showed him slamming a female co-worker to the ground during a basketball game.

The video shows Travis Mims, Katherine Martin and two students inside the gym at Holly Hill School.

Martin, a teacher at the school, told police that Mims became increasingly aggressive throughout the game. The video, which was released by the Holly Hill Police Department, shows Mims grabbing Martin, lifting her completely off the ground, and then slamming her head first onto the hardwood court.

Martin, 33, suffered "substantial injuries" in the incident, police said.

Mims, 27, was arrested for aggravated battery. He was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail. He has since bonded out, according to jail records.

Mims was a campus adviser at the school. He resigned from the position, Volusia County Public Schools officials said Thursday.
