Investigators in Volusia County are checking into what caused a fire that ripped through a beachwear shop early Sunday morning.

Firefighters said it started around 2 a.m. at Eagles Beachwear, on Third Avenue in New Smyrna Beach, just down the street from the beachside Publix.

As the clothing and merchandise inside fed the flames, investigators said the roof collapsed.

No other buildings were damaged, and no one was hurt, firefighters said, but the fire was a blow to business owners whose store was destroyed.

State fire marshal's investigators also arrived to investigate the scene.
