A collision between two motorcycles trying to merge onto the eastbound BeachLine Expresssway killed one of the drivers Tuesday afternoon, troopers said.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report:

Both motorcycles were on John Young Parkway at about 12:30 p.m. One, a 1998 Kawasaki, was traveling southbound, while another, a 2000 Harley-Davidson, was traveling northbound.

As both drivers entered the eastbound entrance ramp to State Road 528, the Kawasaki, driven by Aaron Morrison, 27, of Ocoee, moved into the path of and hit the Harley, the FHP report said.

Both drivers were ejected from their bikes and taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. The 21-year-old Orlando driver of the Harley died; he was not wearing a helmet. Morrison, who was wearing a helmet, suffered serious injuries.
