The search for answers continues Monday after a Seminole County Sheriff's Office patrol cruiser collided with an Uber over the weekend in a deadly crash.

The crash happened early Saturday, Dec. 12, along State Road 434 near Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

Corey Allicock, 28, died at Orlando Regional Medical Center early Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Allicock, the passenger in the Uber, was initially taken to the hospital in critical condition following the crash.

It's unclear if surveillance video from the two pharmacies located on the corner of the intersection where the crash happened will yield any clues.

"It's so painful because you have a child one day, and the next day he is gone," said Allicock's mother, Judith.

Family members said Allicock called an Uber to get him home after a holiday party.

"In spite of everything, I am hoping to know exactly what happened, because I know he was not doing the wrong thing to get himself in that type of situation," Judith Allicock said.

Troopers said Deputy Scott Sullivan was driving east on State Road 434 when his patrol cruiser hit a Volkswagen that was traveling north on Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

The patrol cruiser struck the left side of the other vehicle, troopers said.

Judith Allicock is questioning who is at fault in the crash and is asking for justice.

"The impact was so severe, so very severe," she said. "So I am wondering if he (the deputy) was speeding over 100 mph or whatever happened? Because he T-boned that car."

According to troopers, Darren Shield, 31, is a job candidate and was inside the patrol cruiser with the deputy for a ride along. Shield and Sullivan were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Volkswagen, 73-year-old Robert Williams, is an Uber driver. He was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

"We are deeply saddened to hear of this tragic accident, and our hearts go out to the rider's family during this very difficult time," said Bill Gibbons, a spokesman for Uber. "We stand ready to assist law enforcement with any investigation into this incident."

Troopers think one of the vehicles ran a red light. However, they don't have anyone who saw Saturday morning's crash. They're asking any witnesses to call the Florida Highway Patrol.
