Spirits are certainly bright as you step inside Sandy “Klaus” Gomme’s home.

Gomme has 105 festive and themed Christmas trees inside her Port St. John home, taking up so much living space that she says she sleeps on the couch from August to January.

“I’m anxious for you to see them all,” Gomme said.

“Disney tree, space tree — they're very important to us,” Gomme said. “These are our two newest trees this year. The USA and our military, which we thank them very much for all they do.”

Those are just in the first room.

In all over her bedroom is a miniature winter wonderland.

“We’re going into Village Square, also known as my bedroom. That’s my box spring and that’s my mattress,” she laughed.

Gomme starts transforming her house for the holidays in August.

“I get so excited when August gets here,” Gomme said. “While everyone’s at the beach, I’m decorating trees.

"We’re usually done the week before Thanksgiving.”

The themes change from room to room.

“I've got Spongebob for the kids,” Gomme said. “Of course, you've got to have an M&M tree. Christmas without Pooh is unheard of. Lego tree. Red solo cup, Pez.” The list goes on and on.

But her Christmas tree fascination isn’t breaking the bank, she says.

“It’s either been given to me, or from a thrift store, garage sale, and that’s it,” Gomme said.

Her electric bill is also reined in.

“For one holiday season it was $60 more than what it would normally be, so it's very well worth it,” she said.

All of the lights and animated dolls are controlled by remote controls.

“I’ve got over 50 animated dolls,” Gomme said.

But it’s the Christmas trees that take center stage in Gomme’s wintry home.

This is Gomme’s 16th year decking her halls with Christmas trees. She said she adds on to her collection each season and already has new ideas for next year.

“I just love the feeling you get, the reaction you get when people walk in the door and see how much you are into it," she said.

"I had to have a brand new fuse box put in so everything is safe and sound, so come on down and look at it.”
