A Fruitland Park man was shot to death Saturday night after he got into a confrontation with an acquaintance, deputies said.
Lake County Sheriff's Office officials said Jeremy Yelton, 25, was walking just before midnight along Griffin View Drive in Lady Lake when he came into contact with an acquaintance.
Investigators said a struggle took place between the two, and Yelton was fatally shot.
Deputies said the shooter, whose name has not been released, immediately called 911 and has been cooperating with detectives.
No arrest has been made and the investigation is ongoing, deputies said.
