A poignant photo memorial honoring fallen troops is on display in Lady Lake.

The project is called “Remembering Our Fallen,” and it's on display through 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at the Baldwin Brothers Cremation and Funeral Home at 13753 U.S. 441.

The memorial, which includes photos of men and women who have died in the War on Terror since 9-11, is so long, it wraps around to another room.

A couple from Nebraska created the memorial five years ago to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and to make sure they were not forgotten.

Since then, the project has been completed in 23 states, including the memorial in Lady Lake that features more than 300 fallen troops from Florida.

"You can see them in their working uniform as well as in their home life. You can see some of the gentlemen or ladies with their children, with their parents as a young child,” said Ruth Anne Yeates of Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home.

“But then you also see them in their uniform, and it really brings it back to life that these are real people -- your brother, your sister, your neighbor."

Visitors can leave a note or personal item on the board that stays with the exhibit as it travels through Florida.

Baldwin Brothers has displayed the memorial twice this year already, once at their Ocala location and the other in New Smyrna Beach. After Central Florida, the exhibit will move to the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.

The 'Remembering Our Fallen' exhibit includes more than 300 Floridians.
