All school lockdowns in Cocoa have been lifted after authorities investigated reports of a suspect threatening gun violence on Eastern Florida State College's Cocoa campus, the school said Tuesday morning.
Several Brevard Public Schools and a private school were placed on lockdown for about an hour.
Classes at the Cocoa campuses of Eastern Florida State College and the University of Central Florida have been canceled for the rest of the day.

11:25 a.m.
Eastern Florida State College said it has lifted the lockdown, but classes are canceled for the remainder of the day.

Space Coast Christian Academy was also locked down. This is a private school and not part of Brevard Public Schools.

All of the lockdowns at Brevard Public Schools have been lifted.

11 a.m.
According to Cocoa police, the Brevard County Sheriff's Office received an open-line 911 call about a possible shooter coming to the campus.
A woman called and said she thought she heard gunshots and was hiding in a closet in Building 4. So far, that report is unfounded, Cocoa police said.
Authorities notified the school, and the Cocoa campus was placed on lockdown.
Investigators said they are searching building-by-building. No suspect has been located at this time.
10:30 a.m.
University of Central Florida police said UCF's Cocoa campus, on the campus of Eastern Florida State College, is on lockdown in response to the threat.

10:20 a.m.
Brevard Public Schools said several schools in the Cocoa area have been locked down because of the reported threat:
- Cambridge Elementary
- Central Area ALC (Clearlake)
- Cocoa High School
- Endeavour Elementary
- Saturn Elementary
"No activity is currently taking place on any of these campuses. All students and staff are safe, and the schools are cooperating with law enforcement," Brevard Public Schools said on Facebook. "We will update our social media platforms when the lockdowns are lifted."

A message on Eastern Florida State's website advised those on campus to remain indoors and lock doors until further notice.
