A man accused of shooting two people, killing one of the victims in the parking lot of a Bojangles' fast food restaurant in Leesburg, has been arrested, Leesburg police said Friday.

The U.S. Marshal's Task Force arrested 24-year-old William Coffey in unincorporated Fruitland Park, off Picciola Road, police said.

The shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of the Bojangles' on Highway 441, across from Via Port Florida, formerly known as the Lake Square Mall.

According to a family member, 22-year-old Christopher Webber came to visit his girlfriend, 25-year-old Sheree Allen, who worked at the fast food restaurant.

That, police said, was when Coffeey approached them and an argument that broke out escalated.

Allen was shot in the leg, and family members said Webber was shot three times in the head and killed.

"He was a good person," said Melinda Thompson, Webber's aunt. "He's got kids out here that he'd been taking care of, and he can't do anything, because he's dead. We don't know what happened, and we want to know."

Webber's family said he leaves behind 10 children and had been working to try and support his kids. Family members said they were planning a vigil Friday night.

Investigators said they believe the Coffey and victims knew each other.

Police questioned and later released another man, whom they said is still being considered a witness.
