The woman at the center of a prostitution sting and shooting of a Brevard County deputy has been sentenced to 180 days behind bars for resisting arrest after taking a plea deal Monday.

Mary Derossett stood in court Monday accused in two prostitution cases, including the sting on Aug. 20, when Agent Casey Smith was shot at Derossett's Port St. John home.

John Derossett, Mary's uncle and Smith's alleged shooter, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.

Prosecutors accused Mary Derossett of advertising for the solicitation prostitution. Undercover agents communicated with her and came to the house the night of the shooting.

Two Brevard County deputies were fired after it was discovered they were two of Derossett's many clients.

Mary Derossett's sentence includes credit for 46 days of jail time already served. She was also sentenced to probation for two separate charges of solicitation of prostitution.
