A 42-year-old man is accused of shooting his wife Sunday night inside their Holly Hill home in front of two people, including a 6-year-old girl.

Holly Hill police responded to reports of a shooting at 8:32 p.m. at a home along 15th Street. When officers arrived to the scene, they found Anibal Muniz Jr. in front of the home with his hands up.

His wife, 47-year-old Jeanette Ramos, was found in the couple's bedroom suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.

The shooting was reportedly the result of a domestic dispute between the couple, police said.

Ramos was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center for emergency treatment. She was still undergoing treatment early Monday morning, police said.

Muniz is charged with attempted homicide and is currently being held at the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond.

The two children who live in the home with the couple, a 19-year-old male and a 6-year-old girl, were inside the home at the time of the shooting. Police said they weren't injured.
