Homicide detectives from the Orlando Police Department a $25,000 reward Friday for the arrest of the person who killed Robert Bosso.

The 28-year-old University of Central Florida graduate was killed just before 11 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 26. at the Verona at Valencia Apartments on South Kirkman Road.

Investigators say at least three males wearing dark clothing approached Bosso and his girlfriend near his apartment. They say one of the men pointed a gun at her head and demanded money. Police said Bosso grabbed the suspect and told his girlfriend to run. Bosso was then shot and killed.

"The randomness of it, the suddenness of it is something that we all as a community is something we need to be concerned about and getting these people off the street,” said Detective Mike Moreschi. “I had a meeting with his mother last week. She said, ‘Yea he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time’ and I was like no, he really wasn’t. He was coming home from dinner on a Saturday night with his girlfriend and this could have been any one of us.”

Bosso graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach where a group of alums raised the money for the reward.
