An Orlando woman was killed and a Melbourne man critically injured in a two vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Brevard County.
The accident happened at 12:30 a.m. on State Road 407, one mile west of Interstate 95.
The Florida Highway Patrol said 22-year-old Keith Pumphrey of Melbourne, was traveling east on SR-407 and for an unknown reason drove into the westbound lanes and into the direct path of a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Keri DeMott of Orlando.
Troopers said DeMott was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pumphrey was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne in critical condition.
FHP said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
