The 2015 pumpkin harvest concluded this week and officials say this year’s harvest is half of what it was last year.

As News 13 first reported last month, the heavy rainfall in the Midwest this summer caused the pumpkins to rot early.

Libby's, which controls a majority of the canned pumpkin market, says it will likely have enough to make it through Thanksgiving but once stores sell out, they are likely to not have any on the shelves until next year’s harvest.
