A man was killed Thursday morning after he got pinned between a bucket lift and the building at Coggin DeLand Ford in Orange City, police said.

The call came in at 6:49 a.m. after Robert Heymen, 35, of Deltona, was found unresponsive. He was pinned between the bucket lift controls and the edge of the roof, according to Lt. Jason Sampsell, of the Orange City Police Department.

Heymen and another person in the lift were working on the gutters and the roof. The other person on the lift was able to exit and dropped about 30 feet to the ground, Sampsell said. He suffered an ankle injury.

Heymen was pronounced dead at the scene. He was an employee of Tecta America, a company contracted to do roofing work at the dealership.

The case remains under investigation.
