The eastbound lanes of Old Winter Garden Road are back open after a deadly crash in Orange County.
It happened around 8 a.m. on Old Winter Garden and Edgewood Ranch roads.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said a BMW and Jeep SUV were northbound on Edgewood Ranch Road when the Jeep slowed to turn onto Old Winter Garden Road.
For an unknown reason, the BMW did not slow and rear-ended the SUV.
Both vehicles traveled through the intersection, hit a pole and caught fire.
The BMW's male driver was unable to get out of the car and died at the scene. Troopers said dental records will be used to confirm his identity.
The Jeep's 17-year-old male driver from Windermere was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Troopers have yet to release either victims' names, pending confirmation, but said speed was a factor.
The crash remains under investigation.
