Authorities are inspecting two hand grenades in Volusia County after a woman flagged down firefighters Wednesday and handed them the devices, police said.

The woman told Edgewater Fire Department officials that her husband was a war memorabilia collector, but the hand grenades are no longer explosives.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office's bomb squad assisted the Edgewater Police Department with the incident on Juniper Drive.

Roads in the area were closed as police and the bomb squad investigated.
