Energy moving out of the Gulf of Mexico early Tuesday was able to take advantage of a good deal of middle and upper level moisture to produce widespread cloud cover throughout the afternoon and evening.  With the dense cloud cover in place, most locations had a tough time seeing afternoon high temperatures higher than the upper 60s and low 70s on Tuesday.

Minimal clearing is expected overnight, but some breaks in the high cloud deck expected by early this morning.  The clouds will help hold in what little heat the earth was able to absorb on Tuesday, and morning lows will be milder today only falling into the lower to middle 50s, with our typically colder locations north and west of I-4 falling into the upper 40s.

The next cold front to impact the area will drive through Central Florida during the afternoon producing a mixture of clouds and sun during the day and a north wind.  After a little early morning fog, skies should become partly cloudy today with afternoon highs climbing into the lower to middle 70s.

Our next major system will be getting wound up over the Gulf of Mexico late Thursday and may result in some showers overnight and into Friday morning.  After a mild morning in the 60s, Thursday’s highs are expected to be warm in the middle to upper 70s under partly to mostly cloudy skies.  A storm system will move out of the Gulf and over the southern states on Friday, resulting in cloudy skies and the threat for showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and Friday night.  Some may rain may linger into Saturday morning with a chilly and breezy expecte once the clouds begin to clear in the afternoon.
