A new attraction is headed for Orange County.

Gatorland and Fun Spot America broke ground Tuesday on the new joint venture.

Gator Spot will bring a new level of interaction, entertainment and education to Fun Spot on International Drive.

The 15,000-square-foot new attraction will cost more than $1 million and will be the only location on I-Drive to showcase alligators up to 12 feet.

Gator Spot will incorporate elements from Gatorland, including rare, white gators.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer attended the groundbreaking and said the new attraction is a big deal for Central Florida.

“It creates additional jobs, brings visitors together as we continue to add different types of events and attractions, there's something for everybody here in Central Florida,” Dyer said.

Admission to Gator Spot will be $6 for adults and children.
