A two-alarm fire early Friday morning destroyed three buildings at a farm in Volusia County that grows decorative moss for craft stores.

Volusia County Fire officials said the call came in at 3:50 a.m. reporting a fire at the Quality Growers Floral Company's facility at 5220 State Road 11, just south of State Road 40 in De Leon Springs.

When firefighters arrived, they found three buildings fully engulfed in flames. Officials said they were letting all three buildings burn, and that may continue for at least half of a day, if not through the weekend.

The damage was estimated at $2 million. No one was injured.

Mark Wickham, owner of Quality Growers Floral Company Inc., said his De Leon Springs facility employs 50 people and ships to every state in the U.S. His biggest concern was making sure his employees are taken care of, and that the company fulfills its orders to customers.

Wickham said he's been in the business for 38 years, starting when he was just 19. His said his nurseries were hit by four hurricanes in years past, and it took him a year and a half to rebuild.

State fire marshal's officials have begun working to determine how the fire started.
