A grieving family lashes out as the woman accused of killing their loved one in a hit-and-run crash bonds out of the Orange County Jail.

“To be killed on his way to work, there is no justification for that,” said Jessica Peguero, the victim’s sister.

Peguero wants to know why 30-year-old Gina Marie Estrada took off after Florida Highway Patrol troopers said she hit and killed 30-year-old Jonathan Diaz late Sunday night while driving drunk.

According to the arrest affidavit, Estrada was traveling north on Winter Garden Vineland Road near Vista Oaks Court when she veered into another lane, hitting Diaz’s car. The vehicle then slammed into a concrete wall, killing him.

Estrada and her two passengers were not hurt, but troopers said she left the scene, leaving her car behind.

She was later arrested for DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash with injury or death.

Diaz’s sister said he worked at Walt Disney World after recently moving to Central Florida from New York.  He had a passion for video games and cars.

“My brother was a quiet, conservative person who always kept to himself,” Peguero said. “He was not a troublemaker at all.”

Diaz's family yelled at Estrada as she walked out of jail around 9:30 p.m. Monday after posting $15,000 bond.

The family said they've experienced extreme sadness and loss since Sunday.

“I never felt hatred for a person before, but I would just say imagine if it was your child that was killed in an accident, imagine if it was your brother,” Peguero said.

Diaz’s family said they are planning on filing a wrongful death lawsuit against Estrada.
