Nearly five years after a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti, our own Christine Webb returned to the same spot where she was standing when the quake hit.

Just 25 miles southwest of Haiti's capital, Leogane was at the epicenter of the earthquake on Jan. 12, 2010.

Christine was there on a trip with Orlando's New Missions, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children and their families in Haiti, when the earthquake struck. It was Christine's first mission trip, and her first trip out of the United States.

Christine and her New Missions group were rescued days later by the U.S. military in Black Hawk helicopters.

Trapped in Haiti after the quake, she was the only American reporter there at the time and the first to send reports back to the U.S. from her iPhone. Christine's reports ended up airing not just on News 13 and Bay News 9, but on CNN and all over the world.

Now, five years later, Christine has returned to Haiti, along with reporter Margaret Kavanagh, to reconnect with the community she went to help — and who also ended up helping her — in 2010.
