At least one person has been taken into custody for questioning in connection to a string of armed robberies at three Orange County convenience stores early Tuesday morning, deputies said.

At least two of the robberies appear to be connected, deputies said.

In both cases, two men produced a black handgun and demanded money from the clerks, said Lt. Matt Butler, of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The first armed robbery occurred around 2:22 a.m. at the Circle K located at 12253 Lake Underhill Road.

The second armed robbery was at a Hess at 38 S. Goldenrod Road.

The robberies occurred within a 13-minute window.

The two suspects fled from the second robbery in a red Honda Civic. Orlando police located the car near the area of the robberies, and the vehicle was stopped. Detectives responded and detained the driver for further investigation.

There was a third armed robbery of a 7-Eleven on Destination Parkway, but deputies don't believe it is related to the other two.

No other information was released.
