A front will move closer to Central Florida on Monday.

We’ll start out with partly sunny skies and not much rain in the morning.

By the afternoon, the front will be close enough to increase cloud cover and create a likely chance for showers and storms. Some of the storms could have heavy rain and gusty wind.

It was a much better end to the weekend than where we started; more sunshine and fewer showers and storms. With the added sun, we were able to warm up more than previous days. High temperatures topped out in the middle to upper 80s for most. Ocala even reached 90 degrees. The weak stationary front that sparked a few afternoon showers and storms will no longer impact Central Florida. There is, however, another system approaching from the northwest which will increase rain chances for the start of the work week.

Partly cloudy skies are in the forecast through the overnight hours. Temperatures will not fall quite as much as Saturday night, but will still be comfortable in the middle-to-low 70s. There will be the chance for some patchy fog to develop as we head toward daybreak.
