An Osceola County man is facing charges for giving his son a gun after the boy threatened to kill himself.

Deputies said 44-year-old Michael Yatsko told his son he didn't love him anymore and he was going to send him away.

Out of anger and in an attempt to get a rise out of his dad, the teen threatened to kill himself.

That's when Yatsko threw his gun on the boy's bed, saying he didn't care.

After a few minutes, Yatsko picked up the gun and walked away.

During an interview with deputies, Yatsko also admitted to hitting the boy.

Yatsko was booked into the jail Wednesday, charged with child neglect and child abuse.

He has since bonded out.
