A Daytona Beach police officer who allegedly threatened to kill a fellow officer has resigned, effective immediately.

Port Orange police say Saturday they arrested Daytona Beach police officer, 30-year-old Sarah Louise Martin after her spouse, Tabitha Martin called police.

According to the report, Martin threatened to a third Daytona Beach police officer for unknown reasons.

Tabitha, also a Daytona Beach police officer, tried stopping Sarah by taking her gun away. However, Sarah took Tabitha's department-issued gun, committing a crime.

Tabitha called police following a threatening message Sarah Martin sent in regards to the third officer.

"I won't stop till there's a bullet in [her] head. Don't worry I already let her know I was coming so it's premeditated."

Police were able to locate and arrest Sarah Martin, who had a gun in her possession, before she reached her alleged target. Sarah Martin was initially placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation; she is facing charges for a written threat to kill or injure, grand theft of a firearm and domestic battery.

In 2010, Sarah Martin was fired from the force after lying to superiors, and for misuse of a department computer; but the penalty was reduced to an 18-month suspension without pay.

Sarah Martin had been with the Daytona Beach Police Department since 2008, and just last month, Martin was one of five finalist for the Daytona Beach Officer of the Year Award.

Martin has not returned calls from News 13.
