A 43-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by a Jeep Wrangler while riding his bicycle in Volusia County on Wednesday, police said.
Lauren Davids, 18, of Ocklawaha, was traveling eastbound on New York Avenue about to enter the intersection of Hill Avenue and State Road 44, in DeLand.
Eric Pitre, of DeLand, was traveling in the same direction.
Initial indications are that Pitre turned left into the path of Davids’ vehicle at the intersection, police said.
Pitre was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed, police said.
