A big change in the weather pattern here across Central Florida, as cloud cover helps to hold temps down a little and rain chances pick up for the overnight hours and through the day on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Hurricane Edouard continue to take on more of a NE motion over the Central Atlantic and thankfully stays far out to sea.
Partly to mostly cloudy skies are in the forecast through the overnight as high pressure remains parked far to our southwest over the Gulf of Mexico. Meanwhile, a frontal boundary continue stall out to our north though may try to drift a bit closer over the next 24 hours. While not expecting it to manage to drop through, the moist air will still manage to deliver a good dose of rain to many areas. Look for some showers even through the overnight as temperatures bottom out in the low to mid-70s with winds from the WSW at around 5 mph.
As we kick in to our Wednesday, more of the rain will be in place as it moves from the northwest to southeast. The best chance for the action appears to be in the morning hours, with activity backing off some as we move through the afternoon. Highs will top out in the upper 80s with a west wind at 5 to 10 mph. As we move through the rest of the week, the rain chances will primarily hold at around 30 percent as daytime highs return to the upper 80s and low 90s for most locations. Sea breeze interaction could lead to some afternoon showers and thunderstorms attempting to develop each day.
In the tropics, Hurricane Edouard is posing to no threat to land areas. The Category 2 hurricane will continue to turn more toward the northeast and stay over the open waters of the Atlantic, eventually losing tropical features as we wrap up the work week and move in to the upcoming weekend. Another tropical wave is expected to push off the coast of Africa over the next couple of days and could show some potential for development.
