A man is facing several charges after police said he fired several shots at a vehicle in Orange County.

It happened around 2 a.m. Monday in a parking lot near Central Boulevard and North Orange Avenue, just outside our News 13 studios in the Wells Fargo building.

Police said Benjamin Bermudez, 22, got into an argument with another man and fired several shots at a vehicle.

No one was inside, but police said Bermudez even pointed his gun at a woman sitting in a car next to that vehicle.

"I heard shots ring -- about five or six,” said Dominick Flemming, a security guard. "I looked over to my left. On Central (Boulevard), I saw a group of people running."

Police said they stopped a vehicle trying to flee the scene. Officers found a gun inside.

Bermudez was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm in public and reckless display of a firearm.

No one was hurt in the gunfire.

This is just the latest in a series of violent acts in downtown recently.

Last week, several people were injured when someone threw a firecracker into a crowd at the BackBooth bar.

A woman was also killed in an officer-involved shooting at Vixen Bar Aug. 19.

Earlier this summer, a popular DJ was stabbed and killed outside of Tier nightclub.
