One of the biggest consignment sales in the nation kicks off Friday in Clermont.

It’s called Cradle to College, designed to save parents money on children’s items or raise money for college by selling off clothes and other items they’ve outgrown.

Since its humble beginnings in 2010, the sale now serves 5,000 families a year.

The sale runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Clermont’s City Center, 620 W. Montrose St.

It then continues the following two weekends.

The next sale is in Orlando at First Christian Church, 2565 E. Kaley Ave., on Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Sept. 27.

Then on Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11., the sale will be held at the Viera Regional Park Community Center, 2300 Judge Fran Jamieson Way.

Shoppers are asked to bring school supplies to donate to local charitable organizations.
