Florida Highway Patrol has released the video of a Greyhound bus driver being arrested in Brevard County - on accusations he was high on drugs while driving a bus full of passengers.

One of those passengers was so scared, she called 911 for help.

Fifty-nine-year-old Richard Campbell, a driver from Orlando, was arrested Sunday, Aug. 24 in Brevard County off I-95. Troopers were first alerted to the driver in Volusia County when a passenger called 911.

Caller: “We’re on a Greyhound bus and the driver is reckless driving. He’s fidgeting; he’s been fidgeting for an hour and half now. He almost ran a car off the road.”

Caller: “He keeps putting his head on the steering wheel, and bringing it back up and jumping in his chair.”

Campbell was not arrested until 30 miles later in Scottsmoor when troopers said he was sweating, yelling, moaning and could not control his arms and legs.

According to FHP, 20 people were on the bus, including an 8-month-old and an 11-year-old child. Campbell was charged with driving under the influence and two counts of child neglect.

A Greyhound spokesperson issued to the following statement:

“We have a zero tolerance policy of any Greyhound employee using or being in possession of alcohol or illegal substances. It is inappropriate for us to speculate at this time as to what occurred due to the ongoing investigation.”

Greyhound sent another bus to take the riders to their final destinations.
