Voters in Brevard County will be making key decisions on the county commission and school board during Tuesday's primary election.

During early voting last week, 7,316 people cast their votes throughout the county, while an additional 33,372 mailed in their ballots.

But Election Day itself will be important in deciding key races in the county.

Three seats are up for grabs on the school board, with only one incumbent running for re-election.

Half a dozen races for judge will also be decided Tuesday, along with a seat on the Canaveral Port Authority Commission.

Four Republicans are vying for the county commission District 2 seat, while seven Republicans are battling for the District 4 spot.

The two winners in the county commission races will go on to November to face general election opponents.

The Brevard County Supervisor of Elections says only 25 percent of registered voters turnout for the primary.

The county's 123 polling locations are open until 7 p.m.
