An Oak Hill man is being treated at the hospital Monday morning after a Volusia County deputy pulled him from his smoldering recreational vehicle after it caught fire Monday morning.

The fire was reported at 9:49 a.m., at the Mosquito Lagoon RV Park, located at 419 E. Halifax Ave.

Volusia County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived to the scene. One deputy entered the RV and was able to pull the man from the smoldering vehicle. Deputies performed CPR on the man until paramedics arrived to the scene.

The man was taken to Bert Fish Medical Center, in New Smyrna Beach.

Volusia County Fire Services and the State Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
