The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that happened Thursday in Minneola that required a cyclist to be airlifted for medical treatment.

Paramedics were on the scene treating the man, who they rushed into an ambulance, and then to an open field for transport by helicopter to Orlando Health.

The incident happened on U.S. Highway 27, on a southbound ramp in Minneola.

The Orlando Health helicopter crew landed near Advanced Auto Parts across from Minneola City Hall.

The investigation is ongoing, and charges may be pending.
