Officials from Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom have announced a new addition to their gorilla family.

The animal programs team has reported that mother Azizi has been doing great with her new infant.

According to experts at Disney's Animal Kingdom, in the first few days of an infant's life primate mother's must learn to how to maneuver with her new infant clinging to her body. Mother's typically go from using all four limbs to using just three, cradling their newborn.

The first skills newborns learn is how to cling to mom without assistance, and nursing. But usually within the first week, the infant is clinging with all four limbs allowing the mother to return to her regular form of movement using each of her limbs.

Team members say the newborn's 4-year-old sister Lilly has shown a lot of curiosity towards her new sibling, but the parents have disciplined her appropriately whenever she gets too rambunctious.

The new baby has yet to be named, but is the fourth gorilla born at Disney's Animal Kingdom as part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Species Survival Plan.
